UNITED FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES
Building more independent lives.
Nearly ¼ of Americans live with a disability. After the age of 21, it is common in Pennsylvania for young people with disabilities to join long waiting lists to locate accessible housing, employment and other programs. Parents often leave full-time employment to ensure that their child has the support they need. United Way is working hard with partners to help people living with disabilities pave their own road to independence and lead fuller, richer lives.
Help United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania connect children and adults with disabilities to vocational, social and recreational opportunities. When people with disabilities realize their full potential, we all benefit.
