JENNIFER YATES

Tocqueville Development Officer, Donor Relations

A Pittsburgher through and through, Jennifer Yates knows – and appreciates – the importance of our work in the five-county region.

In her role as Tocqueville Development Officer, Jennifer works closely with Tocqueville Society members and prospects to inform them of United Way’s work in the community and thank them for their generous support. This fall marks her fourth year with United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania.

On a typical day, Jennifer starts by answering emails and meeting with the Donor Relations, Major Gifts or Tocqueville Development team. From there, she’s out and about meeting Tocqueville donors for coffee or lunch and updating them on the work United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania is doing in our region. This is also a time for her to see what’s new in the lives of Tocqueville donors and build a deeper relationship with them. She gets the most enjoyment out of this part of her role because she likes meeting and talking with people who are committed to helping their neighbors and the people of Southwestern PA.

Some of Jennifer’s favorite memories at United Way come from campaign celebrations. The yearly event is a great way to thank all of the donors, volunteers and partner agencies that made the previous year a success. It’s great to have an event where everyone can celebrate their hard work together.

Jennifer calls the Strip District home and likes to explore the area in her free time. As a fan of the outdoors, she’s usually at one of Pittsburgh’s many parks or taking a day-trip to Ohiopyle State Park. She also likes to visit her parents who still live in Pittsburgh. Thank you Jennifer for all your hard work and dedication to United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania.
