DR. SANDRA CURRY
Dr. Sandra Curry is the Executive Director of Community Partnership, the community action agency that serves Butler County, Pennsylvania. In this capacity, she oversees the day to day operations of the agency and oversees the administration of the county’s Community Services Block (CSBG) grant entitlement funding. She manages a network of subcontracted agencies, and she has also overseen the development of agency programming in the areas of agricultural development, food security, and community development.
Prior to working at Community Partnership, she was employed as the Education Director at the Franklin Center of Beaver County, a human service agency that provides programming in education, community development, housing and utility assistance, basic needs assistance, and family empowerment. She oversaw an expansion of the organization’s youth programs, moving the organization’s youth programs from serving a single community to communities in multiple counties in Western Pennsylvania. Concentrations were added in youth entrepreneurship, maker, and STEM education, and partnerships were formed with school districts, private schools, higher education providers, and other nonprofits in order to expand both the number and quality of services provided to the community. Programs were concentrated in the areas of STEM and youth entrepreneurship education.
She is active in the community, committing her time to several nonprofit and community development boards and committees throughout western Pennsylvania. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in International Politics from Penn State University, a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Slippery Rock University, and a Master of Arts in Defense and Security Analysis. Dr. Curry received her Doctorate of Strategic Leadership with a concentration in Entrepreneurial Leadership from Regent University in May of 2022. Her capstone project was the development of a workshop series concentrated on the intersection of redemptive work, redemptive action, and agriculture.
Sandra has worked in the nonprofit sector for fourteen years, and she is passionate about the use of entrepreneurship as a tool to alleviate poverty.
