MATT AND JEN STEENSON
Highschool sweethearts driven by their love of family and a strong work ethic.
Matt is EVP, Head of Consumer Banking at PNC Bank. He has been with the organization for nearly 25 years and has spent the last fifteen helping United Way. Jen is a homemaker who has raised three children, while also supporting her community through volunteerism. The couple met while attending North Hills High School in Pittsburgh.
Family is at the center of everything for the couple. Sunday dinners are not a tradition lost on the Steenson’s, but rather enjoyed together. Traveling and entertaining are also two of their favorite pastimes. “Family has always come first, but our health, personal success and giving back to the community are also very important and we hope to pass these values down to our children,” said Jen.
Matt is only one generation removed from experiencing need first-hand. “My mother would often tell me stories about how challenging it was growing up in the project housing,” said Matt. “This gave me deep appreciation that really good and hardworking folks, through no fault of their own, can be in need.”
Matt has been a Tocqueville member since 2018. He encourages anyone interested in connecting with local professionals and on a mission to spark change to get involved with United Way or join one of their leadership groups. “United Way allows you to connect with the right people at the right time to make the greatest impact. Their leadership team is at the heart of everything they do. And we all know as business professionals, success starts and ends with strong leadership.”
