Be a Middle School Mentor (BAMSM) is the largest school-based mentoring program in our region’s history. We match hundreds of successful adult mentors with middle school students to learn about real careers and jobs, to develop big dreams for their future, to understand the importance of doing well in school, and to have another caring adult role model.
More than 2,400 students in the Pittsburgh and Southwestern Pennsylvania area have been matched with a mentor since 2009, making it a highly significant and impactful mentoring initiative, with plans to continue its expansion and positive outcomes for at risk children. 88% of mentees have at least a 90% school attendance rate.

You can help by volunteering your time as a mentor or providing funding that helps to recruit, screen, train and manage volunteers throughout the school year.
