Getting closer to the community through Connect U and volunteerism.

  1.     Are you from Pittsburgh? Have you ever lived anywhere else?

I was born and raised in Lower Burrell, PA and now reside in the Greater Pittsburgh area.

  1.   Tell us a little about your family.

My dad, Ted, is an insurance agent and my mom, Janet, recently retired. I also have a younger brother, Mark, who lives in Erie, PA, and a long-term boyfriend, Quentin. Quentin has three children: Quinn (19), Riley (18) and Max (12). I am beyond lucky and grateful to have such a close-knit family & support system in my corner.  I’d be lost without them.

  1.     How did you choose the career you’re in today?

I was a double major in Corporate Communication and Musical Theater and found myself interested in the events industry, which reminded me greatly of directing shows. After graduating college, I saw a job posting for a Guest Services role at PNC within the Realty Services organization. I got the job, which was to create an executive conferencing team for PNC’s new HQ, The Tower at PNC Plaza. Over time, my role in Guest Services expanded greatly, leading me to a shift into PNC’s Regional President’s Office and then, a few years later, back to PNC Realty Services in the COO organization where I am now.

  1.   What do you love most about your job?

In addition to my day job, I am presently the co-liaison for PNC’s Pittsburgh Market Regional D&I Council. This work is incredibly rewarding, and I just love working for a company that walks the walk when it comes to Diversity and Inclusion.

  1. Why do you think it’s so important to give back to your community?

I’ve always been taught that it’s important to give back to those in need, that’s simply how I was raised. When I give to United Way, I know that my contributions are being used efficiently and making the biggest impact possible in my community.

  1. Why do you volunteer with United Way?

They have roots in our community and are truly moving the needle on issues that matter most. You can see the impact that United Way makes in our own backyard wherever there is a need.

  1. What is your favorite United Way memory?

I participated in the Connect U program in 2021 and absolutely loved it. Connect U is an 8-week, intensive cohort that United Way hosts. Participants learn about everything from the importance of philanthropy to 211 to the three areas of focus for United Way (Meeting Basic Needs, Moving Toward Financial Stability, and Building for Success in School and Life). Additionally, the program concluded with a volunteer opportunity. Connect U not only enabled me to learn about the critical needs of our community but also motivated me to do more.
