Improving childhood literacy.
Kids reading on grade level by the end of 3rd grade are 4 times more likely to graduate high school. Over the next three years, United Way’s 100,000 Books Campaign will increase children’s reading skills to prepare them for school and achieve academic success—resulting in greater long-term independence.
United Way’s 100,000 Books Campaign creates connections between adult volunteers and at-risk kids to improve their reading skills. The program gives kids better access to quality books and reinforces the importance of early literacy skills for parents and caregivers.
You can help by raising awareness and encouraging friends and family to support the cause, or by gathering books and a team of volunteer readers to foster lasting reading relationships with early learners.
