United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania, FISA Foundation and the Heinz Endowments are helping to blow the whistle on unhealthy relationships before they begin, with Coaching Boys Into Men.
Coaching Boys Into Men is an innovative, evidence-based program that partners with athletic coaches to help high school-aged male athletes practice respect toward themselves and others. The program gives coaches specific content to help them better address and prevent relationship abuse, as well as the tools to address critical topics with their players: respectful dating relationships, consent, harassment and sexual assault.
This program, proven effective in decreasing perpetration of sexual violence and increasing bystander intention to intervene, takes coaches only 10-15 minutes per week to implement over the course of a sports season.
You can help by spreading the word or providing funding for these educational programs to help encourage healthy relationships.
