Women’s Leadership Council
Meet some of the women of United Way’s Women’s Leadership Council, these leaders affect positive change for those in need in our community.
“As your life goes through stages, you become more aware of the realities in the world. In my case, as my children got older, I started to realize the need in my local community and had more time to volunteer.”
“Being part of this powerful network of women who are working together to improve people’s quality of life and reduce disparities in marginalized communities is impactful. I am honored to be a part of the council.”
“It’s not just donating money. You can donate your time. You can help spread the word. I think meeting other women, of all ages, that care about the community is just a big deal. It is empowering to see the difference we can make, the ideas that we come up with and the friendships that have been formed.”
“United Way is impacting our friends, our neighbors, and other community members in our region.”
“It is important to me that I support an organization that allows me to bring my family along to help make a difference and United Way makes that happen.”
“Growing up, I consistently witnessed my parents’ giving nature, their kindness, and their generosity. They worked hard, and always shared their blessings, so I want to set the same example for my own children.”
The opportunity to meet so many inspiring women you don’t know in your own community—to see what these women have done and what they are empowered to do for the community—and for members of the community. It’s a great organization.
“I appreciate United Way because I can direct my financial donations to the Latino Community Center (LCC) which has provided family services and support to incoming immigrant and ethnic communities. These contributions have also helped provide education services to Latinx children and their families; support that extends to children as newborns all the way through their college years.”
